Beautiful exhibitions come and go from the Philadelphia Museum of Art all the time. But for this exhibition, the PMA really wanted people to take notice. Discovering the Impressionists wouldn’t be around for long, and would likely never be back. It’s a curated look at what Paul Durand-Ruel saw when he supported artists like Monet back before every freshman studied him in Art History. Back when he was struggling to pay for a meal. And, with only three worldwide stops, the pressure was on to get people excited.
So that’s where we came in. Make a website. Craft a sweepstakes. Design a social competition. Get people talking about the 1800s.
